Today begins our one-year, 17,000-mile adventure across the USA and Canada. We’ve been preparing for 9 months, and we worked exhausting 15-hour days the last two weeks to pack up the house, prep the RV, and get ready to go. We drove for 11 hours in non-stop pouring rain from Union, Kentucky to Memphis, Tennessee. The RV is challenging enough to control in perfect weather; it’s nerve racking in high winds and heavy rain. On the upside, it was 36 degrees when we left Kentucky, and 61 degrees when we arrived in Memphis. It was a long, tough day, but we arrived safe and sound, and it’s not an adventure if everything is easy.
