Banff National Park is Canada’s oldest national park, established in 1885 in the Rocky Mountains. The park, located 70miles west of Calgary in the province of Alberta, encompasses 2,564 square miles of mountainous terrain, with numerous glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferous forest, and alpine landscapes.  In 1984, Banff was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Over 5 million people visit the park annually.  (Source: Wikipedia, Image: Frank Kovalchek)
